This policy describes information handled through the UnitedAetheria website and how it is used. It reflects the features currently available on the site.

Information you provide

When you create an account, we process your username, email address, and password credential. Passwords are handled by Django's authentication system as password hashes, not stored as readable passwords. Registration requires confirming access to the account email address.

If you complete a profile, the site may store details such as your name, gender, date of birth, phone number, address, description, and avatar. The site also stores content you submit, including organisation details, opportunities, issues, cases, resolutions, votes, and uploaded files. Some records have confidentiality settings; use them carefully and do not submit information you are not authorized to share.

Messages submitted through Contact Us include the details entered in that form, such as your name, email, phone, company, subject, and message.

Information used to provide the service

We use this information to create and secure accounts, operate profiles and community features, apply access permissions, respond to contact requests, send account and service emails, and manage subscriptions or purchases.

For payments, checkout is provided through Stripe on the pages where payment features are available. The application stores related subscription and Stripe reference information; card details are entered into Stripe's payment components and are handled by Stripe under its own privacy terms.

Cookies and browser storage

The site uses necessary browser storage for sign-in sessions, request security, and language preferences. The cookie notice remembers that it has been acknowledged using local browser storage. We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Payment pages may load Stripe scripts, which are subject to Stripe's own technologies and policies.

When information is shared

Information is available to other users only as allowed by the relevant feature, record settings, and access permissions. We also rely on service providers needed to operate the site, including email delivery and Stripe for payments. We do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed when required by law or to protect the security and rights of users and the service.

Retention and your choices

Information is kept while needed to provide the service and meet operational, security, and legal obligations. The site does not currently publish a fixed retention schedule. To ask about accessing, correcting, or deleting information associated with your account, contact us. Some records may need to be retained where required for security, legal, or financial purposes.

Security and changes

We use the site's authentication and access controls to help protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the service changes; the updated date above indicates the latest revision.
